About Love! Love! Love!
Love! Love! Love! is a TV series commissioned by CBBC (the children’s television channel of the BBC) and made by an independent producer – that’s us, Strawberry Blond Ltd.
Love! Love! Love! delivers the need-to-know on everything that’s hot and trending across music, pop culture, celebs and more. In the show, our gang of presenters run down everything that’s on trend that week. From hashtags, to viral dances, the hottest music tracks and the most talked about celebrity of the week. We want viewers aged 8-12 years to get involved and one lucky viewer will be selected each week to be our video hero and become this most talked about celebrity of the week.
Strawberry Blond will collect your personal information for the purposes of the show. We will collect your personal information via the BBC’s online uploader platform. If we broadcast your contribution, this may include the programme being available online and/or on demand, and your contribution may be used again in a future broadcast.
Why do we collect and use your personal data?
We will only collect your personal data when we need it to help us do our job and allow you to participate the show. When we’ve collected it, here’s how your information will be used:
What personal data is collected when you use the BBC Uploader for Love! Love! Love! ?
Strawberry Blond will collect the participant’s full name, age, address and a short video of 1 minute maximum which will contain the participant choosing their favourite song, who it is by, and why they like it so much. They may also showcase any additional talents such as dancing.
Strawberry Blond will also collect the parent/guardian’s full name, parent/guardian’s email address and parent/guardian’s contact number.
Who is the Data Controller?
Strawberry Blond as the independent producer of the show, is the data controller for purpose of shortlisting of children to participate in the show and of additional personal data it collects in making the show.
In addition to this, the BBC will be the data controller of your personal data you submit using BBC Uploader for the purpose of broadcasting Love! Love! Love!. The BBC is also the data controller of the broadcasted show. This means that the BBC are responsible for how and why your personal data is collected and used for these purposes.
As the data controllers, the BBC and Strawberry Blond have the responsibility to comply, and to demonstrate compliance with, data protection law.
Legal basis for processing the personal data
Legitimate interests is the legal basis on which Strawberry Blond processes applicants’ personal data for the selection and shortlisting.
Once the selection and shortlisting has been complete, Strawberry Blond will seek consent from any selected contributors for participation in the TV Series – Love! Love! Love!.
How long will your personal data be stored?
Strawberry Blond will keep the personal data collected until the end of the series (31 March 2023) after which it will be deleted.
Your data will be stored within the UK.
