The People’s Rainforest (2 x 60”)
A two part show hosted by broadcaster Richard Bacon that highlights just how important the rainforest’s resources are to us all.
In part one, we follow a family for a week as they try to live without products or food containing any parts or ingredients traceable back to the rainforest.
Plus there’s a team of experts in the studio to show us just how important the rainforest is to our way of life. Chef Glynn Purnell, reveals the rainforest’s role in our favourite foods, while Red or Dead clothing label cofounder Wayne Hemmingway discusses the rainforest and fashion. Alternative gardener and botanist James Wong talks about health and well-being.
In part two, the next day, the action switches to a rainforest built in Dublin designed by landscape architect Robin Lock. Experts join Richard Bacon with a live studio audience to show how vital the rainforest and its products are to us, even though we’re thousands of miles away. We also catch up with the family to find out how they fared during their rainforest-free seven days.
