Strawberry Blond Podcasts Launch
Strawberry Blond supercharges their Podcast content with hire of award-winning “What’s The Story? Sounds” Co-Founder
Strawberry Blond today announced the creation of a new fully-fledged Podcast division helmed by Sophie Ellis, co-founder and Creative Director of What’s The Story? Sounds.
She has been Executive Producer for some of the most successful pods of recent years including “Joanne McNally Investigates” (BBC Sounds & CBC), The Missing (Podimo) and Emily Atack : Lie Detector (Spotify).
Leeds-based Ellis will continue to build new IP with existing talent relationships, as well as establishing new commissions, originals and working with brands.
She will be also working alongside Strawberry Blond’s television output creating companion visualised pods.
Her plans also include working with existing podcasts on visualising their content and bringing them to wider and diverse audiences.
Strawberry Blond have previously produced podcasts for the likes of Universal Music and Becky Hill’s “Art of The Rave” podcast series featuring Fatboy Slim, Pete Tong and The Blessed Madonna.
As well as being a writer and journalist featuring in The Sunday Times, The Guardian and The Independent, Ellis worked in factual television production for over 15 years producing for C4, BBC, Discovery and Sky.
Ellis said : “I’m genuinely excited to join the SB team to set up this division and a new chapter in an ever growing market. I’ve got the opportunity to work with some incredible talent, create new compelling content and work closely with the TV development teams to produce sister pods too”.

Ellis will work with the Strawberry Blond teams in their newly expanded Scottish offices in Glasgow, London and a base in Leeds.
